The vision, mission and objectives of the Department of English Language, Literature, and Simultaneous Interpretation

The Program vision:
يتطلع قسم اللغة الإنجليزية إلى الريادة والتميز في مجال التدريس والبحث في اللغة الإنجليزية وآدابها والترجمة إقليمياً ودوليا.
English Department aspires to regionally and internationally achieve leadership and excellence in the field of English Language, Literature and translation teaching and research.

The Program Mission
يسعى قسم اللغة الإنجليزية وآدابها والترجمة الفورية إلى توفير تعليم وتدريب متكامل في اللغة الإنجليزية وآدابها والترجمة . كما يهدف إلى تطوير مهارات الطلاب اللغوية والفكرية والبحثية وتشجيعهم على التفكير الابتكاري في ضوء المعايير والقيم الاسلامية مما يؤهلهم لمواجهة تحديات الحياة المعاصرة وتلبية متطلبات سوق العمل. ويهتم القسم بالبحث العلمي وخدمة المجتمع.
The Department of English Language, Literature, and Simultaneous Interpretation seeks to provide integrated education and training in English language, literature and translation. It also aims to develop student’s linguistic, intellectual and research skills and encourage them to think creatively in the light of Islamic principles and values that qualify them to face contemporary life challenges and meet labor market demands. The department is concerned with scientific research and community service.

The Program Objectives
In addition to the general qualities that characterize the graduate, the Program aims to provide students with the ability to:
Master English language through reading, writing and speaking and be acquainted with its literature.
Command Arabic language vocabulary and styles that enable them to translate from and into Arabic.
Translate and interpret all types of texts from English into Arabic and vice versa.
Be familiar with Islamic culture basics.
Communicate with other cultures, connect different knowledge and interact in cultural projects.
Master English language culture and recognize its inclusive cultural framework.
Read and analyze literary texts and distinguish the characteristics of its diverse eras and currents.
Have command of at least a second foreign language other than English.
Acquire the skills that enable to attain personal and academic achievements in an ethical framework to serve the community
