Dr. Mohamed Al-Maharsawi, President of Al-Azhar University, said that the inauguration of the first African Youth University Games at Al-Azhar University on the land of Egypt is not an ordinary event, but a celebration of Egypt and Africa. Dr. Al-Harasawi said during his speech at the opening ceremony of the First Olympiad of African Universities Youth in the gymnasium covered by the Armed Forces Sports Authority, that this Olympiad is being attended by 27 African countries. This is a historic event witnessed by Al-Azhar University, after becoming a member of the Union of African Universities North Africa, and the regional headquarters of the Federation was inaugurated at Al-Azhar University to be the seat of all North African countries. Al-Azhar University President confirmed that the organization of these continental events came to confirm that we at Al-Azhar are interested in the fields of education, research and conferences. We also care about the body and educate our young people to take care of sport. At the end of his speech, Al-Azhar President thanked President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi, President of the Republic, for his generous patronage of these events organized by Al-Azhar to assure everyone that he is always working to spread the message of peace and coexistence among people.
