A minute of mourning for the martyrs of New Zealand at the end of the Olympics of African universities in Al-Azhar

Dr. Mohammed Al-Maharsawi, President of Al-Azhar University, invited the audience to attend the closing ceremony of the first African Youth University Olympiad, organized by Al-Azhar University in cooperation with the Federation of African Universities.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ashraf Subhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Mohamed Al-Maharsawi, President of Al-Azhar University, Dr. Etienne Aheli, Secretary General of the Union of African Universities and a number of Egyptian and African officials and dignitaries.
The events were held under the patronage of President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi and Grand Imam of the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar.
The Olympic Games, which included football, basketball, boys and girls, and athletics, continued from March 14 to 18, in an atmosphere of competitive competition that reflects the spirit of affection and brotherhood among the people of the continent.
This is part of a series of events and activities organized by Al-Azhar on the occasion of Egypt's assumption of the presidency of the African Union and the 2019 Declaration of the Year of Youth of Africa.
On Tuesday, Al-Azhar University inaugurated the regional headquarters of the Union of African Universities at Al-Azhar University, in the presence of a number of officials and Egyptian and African dignitaries. "The inauguration of the headquarters of the Union of African Universities in Egypt is a historic event which comes within the framework of emphasizing the depth of Egyptian relations in all the countries of the continent and its openness to different cultures, civilizations and religions," he said.
